Grandson of Bob Marley, a musician, passed away at age 31.

Rising reggae star Joseph Mersa Marley grandson of Bob Marley, a Jamaican-American, was discovered unconscious in a car on Tuesday (local time) in the US, according to streaming platform TIDAL. According to South Florida radio station WZPP, Joseph, better known by his stage as Jo Mersa, had suffered from asthma his entire life and passed away as a result of an asthma attack.
Before moving to Florida to attend Palmetto High School, Jo was raised in Jamaica and attended Saints Peter and Paul Preparatory School.At Miami Dade College, he majored in studio engineering. In 2014, he released his EP Comfortable; the following year, he did the same with Eternal.
It is unknown if he will appear in the upcoming Bob Dylan movie, which will star 36-year-old Kingsley Ben-Adir as the reggae legend.

In a 2014 interview with the Jamaica Observer, Jo, whose father is the singer Stephen Marley, 50, said it was difficult to follow in his father’s footsteps. “My father has left a legacy by releasing music with purpose,” he remarked. I have a responsibility to live up to it.
Jo said he felt “no pressure” to live up to his well-known last name in a different conversation with The Pier.
There are challenges you must face as well as tasks you must complete because that is the way things are, he continued. We must navigate life, you know?
“I don’t feel any pressure. I’m grateful to be a Marley. I am really grateful and thankful that I was placed where I am today according to God’s will for my birthplace. It makes me proud and grateful.
