ABOUT

When Congress approved Pub. L. 97-28, authorising and requesting the President to proclaim the week commencing March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week,” the idea for Women’s History Month was born. Over the course of the following five years, Congress continued to adopt joint resolutions designating a week in March as “Women’s History Week.” Following a petition from the National Women’s History Project, Congress adopted Pub. L. 100-9 in 1987, designating March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Additional resolutions requesting and empowering the President to declare March of each year as Women’s History Month were enacted by Congress between 1988 and 1994. Presidents have declared March to be “Women’s History Month” on a yearly basis since 1995.

Why is National Women’s Month observed The commemoration aims to track the progress made in women’s empowerment and serve as a forum for learning about the Magna Carta of Women’s advancement and the creation of other legislation. They include the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).

What makes women’s history significant Girls’ perceptions of what is possible are expanded when they are aware of women’s accomplishments. For all of us, learning about the accomplishments and strengths of women fosters respect and self-esteem, both of which are essential for today’s children and adults as well as for generations to come. Educators are enthusiastic and willing to introduce women’s history.

ABOUT

Why is Labor Day a holiday
To honor the difficulties and sacrifices made by the labour movement, Labor Day is honoured. It’s also referred to as May Day. More than 80 nations, including China, Cuba, and India, observe May Day. The 19th century in the United States of America is where Labor Day first appeared.

An annual festival called Labour Day honours the accomplishments of labour. The eight-hour day movement, which promoted eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, and eight hours for leisure, is where Labour Day’s beginnings may be traced.!!!!!!
