At Fresno State, where he twice earned first-team All-MWC accolades, he played collegiate football. In the 2014 NFL Draft, the Raiders took him in the second round. Carr, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, assisted the Raiders in making the playoffs in 2016 for the first time since the team’s inception in 2002. In 2021, he guided Las Vegas to another postseason appearance The past 14 months have been quite the whirlwind for Derek Carr. There was the Jon Gruden controversy, the Raiders’ four-game winning streak to secure an AFC wild-card spot, and the Bengals’ dramatic playoff loss. Following that, Josh Mc Daniels was hired by Las Vegas, the Raiders acquired Davante Adams through trade, and Carr agreed to a three-year extension worth $121.5 million Early life Rodger and Sheryl Carr welcomed their youngest child, Carr, to the world in Bakersfield, California. Before moving to Sugar Land, Texas, in 2002, when his elder brother, David Carr, was selected first overall by the then-expansion Houston Texans, he and his family were residents of Bakersfield. Carr attended Bakersfield Christian High School for his final year after returning to the city with his family At Clements High School in Sugar Land, Texas, Carr’s high school football career got underway.

He spent his first year on the freshmen squad before switching to the varsity team as a sophomore as the backup quarterback. A preseason injury to another quarterback forced him into the starting quarterback role despite his lack of preparation Carr improved gradually while serving as the Clements High School Rangers’ starter. As a sophomore, he completed passes for 1,246 yards and 12 touchdowns; as a junior, they totaled 1,622 yards and 16 scores.  As a junior, Carr guided his squad to a 13-0 (playoffs included) undefeated record before losing to the eventual champion Katy High School Tigers in the Region 3 quarterfinals of the Class 5A Division 2 State Playoffs in 2007. Carr underwent intense recruiting throughout his junior year as well. Fresno State, SMU, Boise State, the University of Southern California, UCLA, and Utah were among his top college choices. Only Fresno State, SMU, and Utah extended scholarship offers to Carr among these institutions. In the end, he verbally agreed to attend Fresno State on May 25, 2008, toward the conclusion of his junior year. Carr was the first member of the 2009 class to join the programme.

Former NFL player and athletic director at Bakersfield Christian High School Doug Barnett confirmed Carr’s transfer to BCHS in 2008 amid rumours that he would have attended the nearby Stockdale High School or Bakersfield High School, two institutions known for their successful football programmes in the past. Carr, a senior, guided the Eagles football team to a 12-1 record and the Central Section Division V championship of the California Interscholastic Federation. The sole loss came in the club’s home opener against Oaks Christian High School, a powerhouse in the country of football. Carr was chosen by ESPN RISE as the National Football Player of the Week on October 29, 2008, following a game against Tehachapi High

School five days earlier, in which he passed for 441 yards and three touchdowns. Carr might In a rout of local foe Fowler High, he also set a new school record by passing for six touchdowns and rushing for two.  Carr received the National Player of the Year award from the National Private Schools Athletic Association in 2009 following the conclusion of his high school football career.

2009 and 2010 academic seasons
Carr chose Fresno State, where his brother David also played quarterback, as an early-entry freshman for the spring semester of 2009 so he could take part in spring football with the Bulldogs. True freshman Carr was “in the mix” for the starting quarterback job as late as mid-July, according to former Fresno State head coach Pat Hill. However, Hill declared that junior Ryan Colburn would start in place of Carr just days before the 2009 season got underway in September.  Carr had a limited role as a freshman, playing in only five games.

2011 year
In the 2011 Bulldogs’ 4-9 campaign, Carr earned the right to start.
In the Bulldogs’ defeat against California to open the season, he made his debut as a starter.
Carr had a breakthrough performance in a win over Idaho three weeks later, compiling 371 passing yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. In a loss to New Mexico State six games later on November 12, he had a season-high 391 passing yards and three touchdowns. Carr threw for 3,544 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions in the 2011 campaign. In various categories, he was among the Western Athletic Conference’s top passers.

season of 2012
Tim DeRuyter, who took over as head coach for Carr when Pat Hill was dismissed, was in place going into the season Carr guided the Bulldogs to a 9-4 record in 2012, a big improvement. Davante Adams, who was a redshirt freshman entering the season, right away established himself as a dependable target for Carr. Carr tossed for 300 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in a victory over Colorado on September 15 after splitting the season’s first two games. Carr had a career game in a 52-40 victory over San Diego State two weeks later. He completed passes for 536 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions, tying the school record. [28] [29] He scored 416 points against New Mexico on the road on October 27.

Season 2020
Carr threw for 239 yards and a score in Week 1’s 34-30 victory over the Carolina Panthers, the Raiders’ first since moving to Las Vegas.
Carr ended Week 2 with 282 passing yards and three touchdowns in the team’s first victory at Allegiant Stadium, a 34-24 victory over the highly anticipated New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. [123] Carr, tight ends Darren Waller and Jason Witten, and seven other Raiders players were all given a $15,000 punishment on October 5 for breaking the COVID-19 protocol of the NFL. Carr and the other athletes failed to wear masks during a Waller’s charity benefit, which led to the fine. [124] Against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5, Carr passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns.

Season 2021
Carr ended with 435 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in Week 1’s game over the Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders triumphed 33-27 in overtime on his 33-yard touchdown pass to Zay Jones to put an end to the contest. [135] Carr, who guided the Raiders to a 3-0 start through the first three weeks of the season while throwing for 1,203 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions with a passer rating of 101.4, was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for the month of September. [136] In Week 7, Carr led the Oakland Raiders to a 33-22 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles by completing 31 of 34 passes for 323 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Carr’s 91.2 completion percentage for the game was the second-highest in NFL history (minimum 30 attempts).

Season 2022
Carr extended his three-year, $121.5 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on April 12, 2022, and it had a no-trade clause.
In terms of average annual income ($40.5 million) and total contract value, Carr rose to the fifth-ranked position among NFL quarterbacks in 2022. [143] In a 19-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1, Carr threw for 295 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. [144] Week 4 saw Carr earn his first victory of the year, a 32-23 victory over the Denver Broncos in which he threw for 188 yards and completed 21 of his 34 attempts.

Private life
The Houston Texans selected David Carr, the brother of Carr, with the first overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. From 2002 until 2012, David participated in the NFL for numerous teams. Lon Boyett, Carr’s uncle, played tight end with the Raiders in the 1978 campaign. On June 29, 2012, Carr and Heather Neel were wed. [1] Dallas, Dekker , and Deakon are three sons, and Brooklyn is a daughter, of the marriage. [117] His oldest son was born with a disease that took three surgeries to treat and tied up his intestines .Carr presently resides next door to Raiders head coach Jon Gruden in the Southern Highlands master-planned neighborhood in the southern foothills of the Las Vegas Valley. “Las Vegas is one of my favorite cities, and I hope they also appreciate our squad. I hope they approve of what we were able to accomplish. Hopefully, we can continue to provide them with wonderful memories of this place in the future. But I must admit that I adore this location, and given the way my wife is speaking, I don’t believe we will be leaving anytime soon Christian Carr has stated that his faith is the most significant aspect of his life His wrists are inked, with the left one bearing a Biblical verse .The offensive future of New England is still somewhat uncertain. In other words, we don’t know who will be making play calls or distributing the ball next season. That makes this potential coupling more challenging. And would Bill Belichick be reluctant to pursue Carr if he couldn’t pass muster for McDaniel’s? We are unsure. Even if the Patriots’ defence did tighten up on Carr in the second half of their chaotic matchup a few weeks ago, Belichick has lauded Carr numerous times in the past. In this hypothetical transaction, Mac Jones would undoubtedly be the bright object. McDaniel’s, who helped Jones to a Pro Bowl season, is likely the best coach to revive Jones’ career if the Patriots decide they’ve run their course with him at the end of the season.

With a lot on the line, the Commanders have re-signed Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback for the final stretch. If he performs well, Wentz may be able to lock up a spot on the same team for consecutive seasons for the first time in three years. But if he fails miserably, may Washington reshuffle the quarterback position? Nothing can be ruled out for that franchise, which always seems to be in upheaval, especially since Wentz is a prime candidate to be released if he doesn’t perform up to expectations because of his contract, which has no guaranteed money left in it. Theoretically, Carr would be an improvement there, and he’d have some terrific young receivers to work with. The Falcons are still contenders to chase veteran aid until disproven, since Marcus Mariota is probably finished in Atlanta and Desmond Ridder is still vying for a chance to start in 2023. However, with all four NFC South teams potentially changing quarterbacks this summer, we can’t completely rule out the prospect of an arms race there. We tend to believe they’d choose a more affordable experienced option than Carr, perhaps Tannehill, who has familiarity with Arthur Smith. Could Carr make a return? Yes, that is feasible. It’s possible that Las Vegas is resting Carr in order to prevent an injury late in the season from guaranteeing his $33 million pay for 2023. However, it’s possible that the Raiders will reconsider Carr’s value after they have a better understanding of the 2023 quarterback market and compare him to other possible selections. Will there be a McDaniel’s and Ziegler-approved quarterback available at Las Vegas’ high selection pick? Tim Tebow was selected by McDaniel’s personally in the second year of his time as the Broncos’ head coach, and he might follow a similar path in Vegas this offseason. But even if that takes place, the Raiders’ management may determine that having Carr around as the team’s future leader is the best course of action for the upcoming campaign. It’s unfair to compare apples and oranges, but take a look at how the 49ers handled the situations involving Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo; if they had let Garoppolo go, they might not now be Super Bowl candidates. The 49ers’ approach to the quarterback position offers some insight, at the very least. Will a quarterback who has been vetted by McDaniels and Ziegler be available at Las Vegas’ high selection pick? Tim Tebow was hand-selected in the second year of McDaniels’ stint with the Broncos, and he might follow the same path in Vegas this offseason. Even so, the Raiders’ management may determine that the best course of action for the upcoming season is to retain Carr around as a bridge to the future. Even though it’s an unfair analogy, consider how the 49ers handled the situations between Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo; if they hadn’t kept Garoppolo, they might not now be Super Bowl candidates. If nothing else, the 49ers’ approach to the quarterback position offers a lesson.
